Wiltshire Council's Valley Farm Proposal

For Parish Council's response dated 2011 to Wiltshire Council's Valley Farm Proposal outlined below click here for appendix click here

Wiltshire Council have proposed that Valley Farm should be developed to become/house the following:

  • a materials recovery waste transfer station,
  • inert waste recycling transfer/Transfer
  • Composting
  • Waste treatment

This is obviously of enormous importance as everyone in Chitterne needs to make their views known to Wiltshire Council. The increase in traffic would be huge, not to mention the noise, smell and danger of run off into local aquifers. There is more info on WC website and there will be exhibitions outlining what is proposed and why during the 8 week consultation period.

Consultation on Wiltshire and Swindon Proposed Submission Draft Waste Site Allocations Development Plan Document

During the meeting of the Warminster Area Board on 19th May it was announced that:

Wiltshire is updating its policy framework to ensure that future proposals for waste development in Wiltshire are for the right types of facilities in the right locations. Consultation on a proposed Submission Draft - Waste Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) will commence on 13 June 2011 and last for 8 weeks. Once the consultation period has closed, the draft sites DPD, supporting evidence base and all comments received during the consultation will be presented to Full Council for approval, before being submitted to the Secretary of State in November/December 2011. From that point on the document will be in the independent examination process.
