Current Issues

Parish Council's objection to the inclusion of Chitterne Landfill Site
in the Wiltshire and Swindon Waste Local Plan 2011.

A Public Local Inquiry was held to consider, among other things, the Wiltshire County Council's proposal to identify Valley Farm, Chitterne (site L20) as a suitable location for outdoor composting. The Inspector did not agree with the Parish council's aim (to have the site removed from the plan) but he did address many of the Council's concerns, and the original proposals are considerably watered down.
